Musicians have always ensured they wow the crowds while performing live on stage, but some artists have been known to take things to a whole other level.
Rock icon Ozzy Osbourne cemented his status as a rock superstar after shocking the world when he bit the head of a bat, while newer artists like Machine Gun Kelly raised eyebrows after smashing glass on his head during performances.
Taylor Swift found herself making headlines this week after the start of her Eras tour revealed theatrical stunts that left her fans stunned.

Ozzy Osbourne was performing at the Des Moines Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Iowa in January 1982 when a concert-goer hurled a bat onto the stage.
Without pause, the musician ripped into the creature with his teeth.
His mouth was seen filling with blood as the audience watched on in horror.
It was a moment Ozzy would never live down, with the incident cropping up in almost every interview he has ever done since.
The star has repeatedly insisted he thought the bat was a rubber toy, complaining it left him having to rush to the nearest hospital for a rabies shot.
He also alleges the bat was alive – though this was disputed by audience member Mark Neal who claims to have thrown the animal and insisted it was dead.
Jimi Hendrix: The legendary musician burned his guitar on stage in 1967

The moment Jimi Hendrix knelt down and poured lighter fluid onto the instrument before taking a match to it has become one of the most iconic images in rock history

The late musician tricked his fans into thinking he had set fire to his favorite electric guitar, but had swapped it out for a different guitar moments beforehand
Iconic American guitarist Jimi Hendrix is another star who created a famous moment in rock history.
The late musician tricked his fans into thinking he had set fire to his favorite electric guitar on stage back in 1967.
Instead, he switched it for a lesser model seconds before dousing it in lighter fluid as a stunt to mark the end of his set at the Monterey International Pop Festival.
The moment the artist knelt down and poured lighter fluid onto the instrument before taking a match to it has become an iconic image.
Jimi, whose best known songs include Hey Joe, All Along the Watchtower and Voodoo Child, had only been planning on smashing up a guitar at the end of his set at the 1967 concert in California.
But having seen Pete Townsend of The Who shove the neck of his guitar into an amplifier earlier on at the festival, he felt he had to go one better.
A roadie for The Animals previously stated: ‘The Who went on before Hendrix and Townshend smashed his guitar up and put the neck into the amp.
‘Jimi was annoyed at this and asked for some lighter fuel. He just wanted to outdo Pete Townshend.
‘He played the black guitar for most of the act and then right at the end he swapped it for a repaired one that he set fire to.
‘At the time the black Fender was his favorite guitar and he didn’t want to ruin it.’
The music icon died in London in 1970 at the age of 27 from drug-related asphyxia.

Pink has become known for her acrobatic stage routines ever since she first took flight mid-performance back in 2009.
She first started to showcase her vocal and athletic prowess in stunts that would rival Cirque du Soleil performers during her Funhouse tour.
However, the world got to see on television for the first time during her performance of Sober at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
The level of risk for these performances became clear when the singer fell out of a harness in the following year.
Pink was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance and she quickly took to her Twitter page to reassure fans who were left terrified by the dramatic accident.
She wrote at the time: ‘To all my nurnberg fans- I am so so so sorry to end the show that way. I am embarrassed and very sorry. I’m in ambulance now but I will b fine [sic].’
Pink then explained that the accident had happened because she hadn’t been secured in her harness correctly, tweeting: ‘Didn’t get clipped in2 harness correctly, drug me off stage, fell in2 barricade. Getting xrays. I hope it at least looked cool!!!’
After being checked over by doctors, Pink explained that she was absolutely fine after the accident, and was just ‘sore’.
She said: ‘Ok all my lovers out there- nothings broken, no fluid in the lungs, just seriously sore. I made that barricade my b*tch!!!! Thanx nurnberg:(‘
Explaining around the time why she had taken such inspiration from the circus for her performances, Pink said: ‘All of us when we were little probably wanted to run away and join the circus because it’s full of what mainstream society considers freakish and the outcasts, and it’s kind of sexy and exciting and big and over the top.’

The 33-year-old singer was singing the band’s track Robbers when he pulled a woman out of the crowd and kissed her briefly.
The kiss came after the singer had previously admitted he was struggling with feeling ‘sexualized’ by fans of the Grammy nominated band.
While kissing a fan randomly onstage can be problematic, the woman he pulled onstage later took to Twitter to clarify that the embrace was consensual.
‘On a real note I do want to state some facts before we get any farther, i had this on my phone because he mentioned at some point “I can only make out with you,” she wrote along with a picture that read ‘So we making out?’
‘So I did this, he saw it and brought me up, HE ASKED before he kissed me! Also I’m a grown age of 24,’ she concluded.
It’s not the first time that the singer has engaged in promiscuous activity during the group’s shows, regularly kissing both male and female fans onstage.
